The extension stores the following data locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API:

• User Preferences: Settings such as "Auto Close Search Tab" and "Show Ranks".
• Search History: A local log of keywords and target URLs you have checked, along with their rank results. This history is stored solely on your browser and is not synchronized with any external database.
• Application State: Temporary status of current search tasks.

2. Permissions and Access

To function correctly, the extension requires specific permissions. Here is why we ask for them:

• Storage (`storage`): To save your preferences and search history locally on your device.
• Side Panel (`sidePanel`): To display the user interface of the extension alongside your browsing experience.
• Access to Google.com (`host_permissions` / `scripting`): We request permission to access https://www.google.com/* pages. This is strictly used to:
  • Perform search queries you initiate.
  • Read the search results page to identify where your target website ranks.
  • Display rank numbers next to search results (if enabled).

  We do not track your browsing activity on Google beyond the specific tasks you initiate within the extension.

3. Third-Party Services

The extension interacts directly with Google Search to perform its core function. It does not send data to any other third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.

4. Data Retention

All data generated by the extension is retained locally on your computer. you have full control over this data and can clear your search history at any time through the extension's interface or by uninstalling the extension.
