Your privacy is of paramount importance to us. This Privacy Policy details exactly how Deepseek Browser Agent ("the Extension") collects, stores, processes, and protects your information when you install and use our Google Chrome extension.

1. Information We Access and Process

To perform its autonomous web-assistance functions, the Extension accesses and processes the following details strictly within your browser:

• Webpage Content & DOM Data: When you request assistance or instruct the agent, the Extension scrapes the readable text or links from your active browser tab to share with the Deepseek API for processing. This data is never sent to any server other than the official Deepseek API.
• Deepseek API Key: Your API key is required to authenticate requests to the Deepseek models. It is stored securely in your local browser storage and is transmitted solely to the official Deepseek API endpoint you configure.
• Chat Session History: To allow you to resume your conversations, chat logs are saved in your local browser workspace. You can fully delete or clear these logs at any time.
• Host Device Details: Only when the get_device_details capability is explicitly requested by the agent and approved by you through a permission prompt, the Extension gathers system platform details (OS, CPU cores, timezone, localization, and network speed) to provide highly-tailored instructions.

2. Where Data is Stored

All configurations, key inputs, and session histories are saved exclusively on your local device using the standard Chrome APIs:

• chrome.storage.local: Used to securely cache your configuration details and chat transcript logs locally within your extension workspace.
• Local System Memory: State parameters are maintained temporarily in React memory scopes and vanish upon closing the extension sidebar or reloading the webpage.

3. Third-Party Data Transmissions

The Extension communicates directly with the official Deepseek API (or any custom proxy endpoint you explicitly specify in the preferences settings screen). All data sent to this API is governed by the official Deepseek Privacy Policy.

We do NOT utilize any trackers, marketing pixels, remote error monitoring platforms, or telemetry tools. We have zero visibility into your workspace, key tokens, or web sessions.

4. Permissions Required & Justification

The Extension requests the following browser permissions in its Manifest to perform core services:

• sidePanel: Essential to render the gorgeous user interface directly in Chrome's native sidebar panel.
• activeTab: Necessary to read the active document text, execute clicks, scroll elements, and interact with the page upon your request.
• storage: Required to preserve your settings (endpoint URL, selected AI model, custom prompts) and chat logs locally across browser sessions.
• tabs: Utilized to list open browser tabs and switch focus between them under the "Switch Tab" agent capability.

5. User Controls and Data Deletion

You maintain absolute ownership and control over your configuration settings and chat history logs:

• Clear Cache & History: You can immediately delete individual sessions or completely wipe your data using the trash icon inside the "Sessions" tab or clearing the extension storage.
• API Key Removal: You can delete your Deepseek API Key from the settings drawer at any time.
• Granular Tool Toggles: You can completely block individual capabilities (e.g., scraping, clicking, navigation, or device info) directly from the "Tools" tab in settings.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any revisions, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. All updates are immediately effective upon publishing.
